Nathalie Le Vine

Nathalie Le Vine has devoted most of her life to teaching Classical Ballet to children, teenagers, and adults. She founded Metropolitan Ballet of St. Louis and was its Artistic Director for thirteen seasons. She also founded and directed Ballet Conservatory in St. Louis. Mrs. Le Vine was trained by Slavenska, Celli, Panaieff, Nijinska, Pereyslavec, and at the Royal Ballet School ( England ). Mr. Le Vine combines both Russian and Italian techniques in her teaching method. She is a Cum Laude gratuate of UCLA, and has danced professionally in several ballet companies, films, TV and musical theater in Los Angeles and New York. Mrs. Le Vine and her husband, Professor Victor Le Vine, have two children, Ted and Nicole.

Over the years, Mrs. Le Vine's method of teaching ballet has produced excellent dancers, many whom have gone on to professional careers including Kimberly Cowen, ballerina with the Kansas City Ballet, and Julia Wollrab who danced with the National Ballet of Canada, the Geneva Ballet, and Hubbard Street Company of Chicago. Mrs. Le Vine is starting her sixth season with St. Louis Academy of Dance. Her methods includes elements of the Italian ( Cecchetti ), British, and Russian ( Vaganova ) techniques and develops a strong, pure technique and artistic expression.
