About The Concert
Under the vision of Linda Green, the Pazazz Performing Company was established 30 years ago within the walls of St. Louis Academy of Dance. This new, pre-professional company provided students an opportunity to expand on their performance experiences and bring dance & entertainment to the larger St. Louis Community. Through the years, the program has coached, educated, and trained hundreds of dancers - not only in the world of dance & performance, but in life skills, teamwork, professionalism, and positive work ethic.
Thirty years later, with former Pazazz dancers Kacy Voskuil and Emily Edwards at the helm, the company has grown into a prestigious training ground for aspiring young artists. Pazazz has expanded its reach bringing in master teachers and choreographers from all over the country and has established a pre-professional concert performance in which the dancers share the stage with professionals from the St. Louis dance community all while raising money for St. Louis’ only established dance therapy programs in Children’s Hospitals. One of the greatest accomplishments within the tenure of the Pazazz Performing Company is the number of young dancers who have gone on to study dance at renowned and competitive college programs- all the while honoring the foundational mission to bring dance, joy, and the arts to the community.
The next chapter for Pazazz embarks on creating the Pazazz Community Scholarship program to be able to share and continue this high level of training. Pazazz strives to create a diverse, inclusive environment and program so that passionate dancers from across the St. Louis area can find a home to train, perform and grow.
Join us, on March 12, 2022, at the Edison Theatre at Washington University, as we celebrate 30 years of the Pazazz Performers.
